Platform screen doors
According to sgtrains.com, platform screen doors enhance commuter safety by providing a barrier between the station platform and the track.
This prevents unauthorised entries onto the track, minimising service disruption due to track intrusion.
All platform screen doors have an interlocking system with the signalling system to prevent the train from departing when any door is not closed and locked, the website added.
It is not known why the platform screen doors were open when the train was moving.
Checks on SMRT's X (formerly Twitter) account revealed that there were no mentions of train disruptions in the past week.
