172 vehicles impounded since July 2025

Since July 2025, checks on more than 3,100 vehicles have led to 172 vehicles being impounded, with an additional 10 vehicles impounded, Senior Minister of State for Transport Sun Xueling wrote in a Jan. 30 Facebook post.

She said: "With the upcoming festive season, there may be higher demand for cross-border travel. We would like to remind commuters to only engage legal cross-border transport services to meet their travel needs."

"Our top priority continues to be the safety of our commuters, and protecting the livelihoods of our local drivers," she added.
