WhatsappA nine-year-old Malaysian girl was forcefully dragged into a stranger's home while walking to a pasar malam in Selangor with her siblings.

The incident occurred on Jan. 29, 2026, at around 6:40pm at Bukit Sentosa, Rawang, Selangor, according to New Straits Times.

The girl was chased, grabbed and dragged into a stranger's house, where she was repeatedly kicked, stomped and strangled by an unemployed man.

Malaysian police confirmed that a 23-year-old suspect had been arrested in connection with the case.

Her father, Nett Adnan, took to Facebook to share about the incident, saying that he had always thought residential estates were safe.

Pasar malam was 500m from family home

The girl, Raisha Falisha, was walking with her two brothers to a night market that was around 500m from her family home.

Her father stated that he would not usually let them go alone, but his wife was unwell, so he let the three siblings head out without an adult.

"There's never been any crime while I've lived here, yet it happened to my own child."

Whilst the children were passing in front of the alleged perpetrator's house, the man chased and grabbed the girl, dragging her into his house.

Her elder brother, Eqii, 12, attempted to intervene and free his sister, stated NST.

But the man continued his attack and dragged her up his stairs to the top floor.

"When Eqii screamed for help, the man started raging, striking, stomping and kicking my daughter. He also choked her."

Thankfully, a neighbour overheard the commotion and rushed to save the children.

According to NST, the father rushed to the scene after neighbours informed him of the incident, and members of the public had already detained the suspect by then.

Children still traumatised

The father shared that all three children are still traumatised and his daughter suffered multiple injuries to her chin, gums and had swelling on her head.

The father of the children expressed his gratitude to his neighbours and members of the public, saying that any later, he might not have known his daughter's fate.

"I hope this story serves as a reminder for everyone to not let your children walk alone unsupervised, even if it's close to home."

Police later confirmed that the suspect had been apprehended.
