The rally

The National Day Rally is an annual message from the prime minister after Singapore's National Day.

Traditionally, it's a platform to announce potential new policies, or changes to existing ones.

In 2023, former prime minister Lee Hsien Loong announced the S$7 billion Majulah Package to help “young seniors” in their 50s and 60s meet retirement needs.

Whereas in 2022, he spoke about the repeal of controversial colonial-era law 377A, the easing of Covid-19 restrictions, and the war in Ukraine.
