Chatuchak Night Market is back in Singapore from Feb. 7 to Apr. 2, 2023, at The Grandstand in Turf Club.
The night market is open from Tuesday to Sunday from 4:30pm to 10:30pm.
The market boasts 180 vendors on a rotational basis, selling street food, crafts and antiques in a large space.
However, the reviews about the market have been making their way around TikTok, with many people expressing their disappointment.
From long queues, to flooded conditions, to overpriced items, many have said that the whole experience has been underwhelming.
The main issue: Crowds
Many TikTok videos have expressed how packed the whole area is.
One video by user @priseeelah noted that the average queuing time per stall was 30 minutes or longer.
The user noted that they wanted to try Moo Ping, a Thai-style grilled pork skewer, but the wait was 90 minutes.
"Not worth the visit," the user wrote in the caption.

Another TikTok user, @gieziheart, warned viewers not to go on a weekend as it was crowded everywhere.
The user also pointed out that with the crowd there was also no place to properly eat the food.
The video showed the crowd that was packed shoulder to shoulder.

The large crowds also meant that the queues to park there were long.
You may think perhaps going on a weekday would be better, but according to another TikTok video, it was still crowded on a Thursday.
User "@eunicechok" posted a video of the market on a Thursday, and they shared that items ran out midway, while queuing and ordering at some stalls had to be stopped due to the high demand.

The user also mentioned that one of the stall assistants was not expecting such a large crowd on Thursday.
Floating markets
Barring the large crowds, another issue the market faced has been the weather.
With the heavy rains, many joked that Chatuchak Night Market became a "floating market" as the event area flooded.
