If Singapore has any indicator of springtime, it might be Gardens by the Bay's annual sakura display.
From Mar. 4 to Apr. 3, the cherry blossoms will return with the relevant Japanese motifs: torii gates, hanami (flower viewing) settings, and a display of Japanese carp streamers known as koinobori.
Visitors can also explore a "magical giant box" with marumado, or traditional round Japanese windows with a view.
For the first time ever, tokidoki characters will accompany the display—spot them among the landscape.

Eight full-scale displays for 2022
The sakura event is one of the eight full-scale displays for 2022.
The first exhibition, Dahlia Dreams, opens on Jan. 14, shortly before Chinese New Year.
There will also be two new floral displays featuring peonies and hydrangeas later in the year, the first time that the two species are receiving their own themed shows.
Here's the full line-up for 2022:

- Sakura featuring tokidoki characters (樱花), Mar. 4 to Apr. 3
- Peony Bliss (牡丹福佑), Apr. 9 to May 3
- Rose Romance (玫瑰之恋), May 13 to June 19
- Hydrangea Holidays (绣球花假期), June 25 to July 24
- Hanging Gardens (百花齐放), Aug. 5 to Sep. 11
- A Spanish Serenade with Sunflowers (西班牙葵花小夜曲), Sep. 24 to Oct. 30
- Poinsettia Wishes (圣诞心愿), Nov. 11 to Jan. 2, 2023
