2021's National Day Parade (NDP) has been postponed to Aug. 21, while eagerly-anticipated heartland fireworks and Red Lions displays scheduled for the NDP weekend have been cancelled.
In spite of that, some Singaporeans are commemorating the nation's 56th birthday in their own unique ways.
And what better way to commemorate Singapore's National Day than through food?
That was apparently the thinking at the Basic Military Training Centre (BMTC) in Pulau Tekong.
BMT recruits, along with their fellow Tekong-dwelling soldiers, were served a special meal to mark the birth of our nation.
Photos of the meal were duly circulated via BMTC's Facebook page.
"Strong Bun & Pie Special Meal"
The "Strong Bun & Pie Special Meal" featured a hotdog bun with a chicken sausage, along with a chicken shepherd pie and seafood bisque soup.
This was served together with a cup of mixed fruit juice and a piece of fruit.
The photo of the meal was accompanied by photos of men in green enjoying their food.

But soldiers in Pulau Tekong will likely be able to witness one of two Chinook helicopters performing a flag flypast on National Day itself, together with the rest of the nation.
The Eastern route of the flypast will begin at the South and will fly along Singapore's southeastern and northeastern coastlines.
It is expected to pass areas such as East Coast, Changi, Pasir Ris, Bedok, Punggol, and Khatib.
