A 73-year-old male Singaporean has died from complications due to Covid-19 on May 21, 2020.
This is the 23rd death in Singapore that is caused by the virus.
Tested positive for Covid-19 on April 17
According to the Ministry of Health, the man, who is Case 4,689, was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on April 17, and had a history of hypertension,hyperlipidaemia and hypothyroidism.
The National Centre for Infectious Diseases has reached out to his family and is extending assistance to them.
Recent deaths
On May 11, a 68-year-old male Singaporean was reported dead due to complications from Covid-19 infection.
This was the 21st death in Singapore related to the virus.
The man, who is Case 1,305, was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on April 5, and had a history of hypertension and hyperlipidaemia.
He was a linked case to two of his relatives, cases 1,660 and 3,984.
Five days later, on May 16, a 67-year-old Singaporean man, Case 1,516, became Singapore's 22nd Covid-19 death after passing away from complications related to the virus.
The man was confirmed to have Covid-19 infection on April 7, and had a history of ischaemic heart disease, hypertension and hyperlipidaemia.
He was the 22nd person to die from the virus in Singapore.
