S'pore woman, 28, assaults 3 people, police officer, 47, comes to investigate, gets assaulted as well
Jail.
A 28-year-old Singapore woman, who was described as "dangerous and volatile" in court, has been sentenced to 36 weeks' jail for assaulting four women, including a police officer and a 74-year-old woman, in separate unprovoked attacks.
The Straits Times (ST) reported that Nur Sheerah Abd Sabar was sentenced on Feb. 20, 2026 after pleading guilty to three counts of assault and one count of voluntarily causing hurt to a public servant.
She assaulted her first two victims in 2024 and was arrested in November that year before assaulting the policewoman and elderly victim while out on bail in 2025.
1st assault
The first incident occurred on Jun. 4, 2024 around 3pm, said Deputy Public Prosecutor Thaddeus Tan.
Sheerah was walking past the first victim, a 57-year-old woman, when she attacked her.
Court documents did not disclose the reason for the attack, which took place at a coffee shop in Woodlands Avenue 6 and saw Sheerah choking and punching the woman before leaving.
The victim's daughter then made a police report which stated that her mother had a bloodied mouth from the attack and was given two days of medical leave.
2nd assault
Following this, the second incident occurred on Nov. 4, 2024 where Sheerah assaulted a 68-year-old cashier at a shop in Choa Chu Kang Street 51.
After going up to the counter with some clothes she had selected, the cashier told Sheerah that she had to pay S$34.
The accused then appeared to use her phone and told the victim that she had made payment via PayNow, but refused to show the victim the payment confirmation page.
She insisted she had already made payment and withheld the bag of clothes.
Sheerah then flung her mobile phone at the older woman, hitting her on the forehead near the right eyebrow which caused bleeding.
An unidentified man alerted the police, after which she was arrested and released on bail later that day.
3rd assault
Less than a year later on Aug. 25, 2025, Sheerah assaulted a 74-year-old woman shortly before 11am at a bus stop near Admiralty MRT station.
She slapped the elderly woman on the face, pushed her, forced her to lie down on the bus-stop seat and climbed on top of her to choke her, ST reported.
Sheerah let go of the victim a few seconds later, who walked away and got on the next available bus to escape.
The court heard that the attack, which was captured on CCTV, caused the third victim to have nightmares.
She was also too afraid to return to the same bus stop.
4th assault
Following this, a 47-year-old policewoman, who was investigating the case, went to Sheerah's flat in Woodlands Avenue 6 on Sep. 8, 2025.
The policewoman identified herself as an officer and showed Sheerah a screenshot from the CCTV footage of the bus stop attack.
Sheerah then insisted on viewing the footage and the officer suggested going downstairs to do so.
However, Sheerah refused, and grabbed the officer's phone before throwing it on the floor.
When the officer bent to pick up her phone, Sheerah slammed her against the wall, struck her head multiple times, as well as slapped and scratched her.
The policewoman later managed to escape while Sheerah turned around to call out to her younger brother.
The officer sustained injuries, including bruises to her right lung.
Dangerous, volatile
Following these attacks, Sheerah was re-arrested on Sep. 8, 2025 and has been in remand since.
On Feb. 20, DPP Tan urged for Sheerah to be sentenced to up to 12.5 months' jail.
"The accused is a dangerous and volatile individual, and a stiff sentence must be passed to deter her from future offending," he said.
