Police looking for unlicensed driver who fled accident scene in Simei, arrested man, 21
The driver left the scene before police arrived.
A 21-year-old man was arrested after he allowed an unlicensed driver to drive a car in the early hours of Feb. 20.
Responding to Mothership's queries, the police and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said that they were alerted to the accident along Simei Street 3 on Feb. 20 at around 12:55am.
The police said the car was believed to have self-skidded, and the driver had left the scene before the police arrived.
A 21-year-old female car passenger sustained minor injuries and was assessed by the SCDF, but declined to be sent to the hospital.
Efforts to locate the driver are underway.
Police investigations are ongoing.
An offender can be fined a maximum of S$10,000 and/or jailed for up to three years for driving or allowing someone to drive a vehicle without a valid license.
