Pet cat stuck in Bukit Merah tree for 50 hours, owner spent S$1,050 to hire cherry picker to rescue it
Meow meow is saved.
A cat got stuck in a tree in Bukit Purmei in Bukit Merah for more than 50 hours.
It was finally rescued after its owner hired a wildlife rescue service to retrieve it to safety via a cherry picker.
The cat's owner, Lisa Hairanee Bidin, took to Facebook on Feb. 6 to share about what happened.
Could not get down on its own

Speaking to Mothership, Hairanee said Putih went missing on Feb. 2.
Hairanee's mother then spotted the cat on Feb. 6.
However, before her mother could secure the cat, she said she saw two boys chase Putih all the way up a tree opposite her house in Bukit Purmei.
To get the cat out of the tree, the family reached out to the nearby church staff for help.
Unfortunately, the cat climbed higher up the tree when they tried to secure it.
One of Hairanee's neighbours also informed her that she heard Putih make noises while it was up in the tree.
Called for help
Hairanee said she subsequently reached out to numerous organisations for help.
She tried calling the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA), the National Environment Agency (NEA), and even the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF), but was told they could not help her.
"I was stressed and very worried... It was scary, we thought she might even fall off the tree," Hairanee said.
Had to wait 2 days
One of Hairanee's friends contacted a wildlife rescue service, JK Wildlife, which told her they would head to the location to assess the situation.
From there, the company informed Hairanee that, as Putih had climbed up very high, they would need to get a cherry picker to help them get up to retrieve Putih.
JK Wildlife was able to get one construction company to help rescue Putih, but it was only available on Feb. 8
On Feb. 8, at around 5pm, Putih was successfully rescued after spending more than 50 hours stuck in the tree.

In total, Hairanee shared that she spent S$450 for JK Wildlife for a successful rescue and S$600 to the construction company that provided the cherry picker.
Cat doing well
Hairanee shared that Putih is currently doing well, eating, drinking, and sleeping a lot, and that she will bring her in for a medical check soon.
