The mother of six-year-old Sheyna Lashira, who died after a car accident along South Bridge Road on Feb. 6, has regained consciousness, said Thomas Ardhian Siregar, a spokesperson from the Indonesia Embassy in Singapore, according to reports by Kumparan.

Raisha Anindra, 31, and her late daughter were conveyed to the Singapore General Hospital on Feb. 6 following the accident.

It was previously reported that the mother was in intensive care.

In an update on Feb. 10, Kumparan reported that Raisha is able to communicate, although her condition is still weak.

She is currently in the high dependency unit.

Based on information from the embassy and Raisha's husband, Ashar Ardianto, Raisha is still under observation and will require medical attention, reported Kumparan.

Raisha was only informed of her Sheyna's death about a day after the accident, as her doctors did not want her condition to worsen.

"Her husband wanted to let her know immediately but the doctor didn't allow it as they were worried her condition may worsen. Only two days after the incident, after the doctor said it was safe, the news was relayed," said Thomas.

The Indonesia Embassy in Singapore will continue to extend assistance to the family, reported Kumparan.

One of them includes the provision of a lawyer.

According to Thomas, Ashar has requested that the perpetrator be dealt with according to the law and sentenced as fairly as possible.

"We have told the family that we will arrange a meeting with a lawyer to get more information from the family," he said.

The embassy will also continue to extend assistance and support, particularly in matters related to Raisha's medical treatment.

As Ashar will continue to be in Singapore while his wife is undergoing treatment, the embassy will also assist with accommodation matters.

"We are also seeking arrangements that would help reduce the financial costs of their stay in Singapore."
