Mediacorp actress Juin Teh recently found herself doing something many Singaporeans and Malaysians have thought about but few actually do: walking across the Johor-Singapore Causeway.

The 35-year-old Malaysia-born actress commutes to Singapore for work after relocating to Johor Bahru in April 2025, when her rental lease expired, according to a Lianhe Zaobao report.

In an Instagram Reel posted on Jan. 3, titled "POV: 2026's most exciting incident, walking from SG back to JB at 6pm", she documented the experience.

The video has amassed 583,000 views, 7,700 likes and 245 comments at the time of writing.

Regularly crosses causeway on foot at 5am

Teh, who acted in the Mediacorp drama "Emerald Hill", stated in the description box that she has crossed the causeway on foot before, regularly doing so at 5am when traffic is light.

She stated that she would typically take the bus home during peak hour at around 6pm.

However, due to the long line of buses, she followed other commuters and decided to walk along the road.

She wrote that it was her first time crossing on foot at 6pm, "I saw everyone walking and I followed suit, but there were so many motorcycles! I had to be extra careful walking back."

At one point, she had to cross the motorcycle lane as bikes whizzed past.

"I thought of crossing the road but I was scared."

She was seen hesitating alongside a large group of crossers and eventually made her way across.

Other commuters sympathised with her

In the comment section, a motorcyclist joked that he was an obstacle to pedestrians, stating that "he would sound his horn for the entirety of this section" as he was also afraid of crossing pedestrians, citing that it was no one's fault.

Other comments chimed in and hoped that traffic will be alleviated with the upcoming Johor Bahru–Singapore Rapid Transit System (RTS) Link slated to open this year.
