30 flights land concurrently at Bangkok airport during peak season, immigration says queues cleared in 30 minutes
More than 85,000 travelers reportedly passed through the airport the entire day.
Photos of huge crowds and snaking immigration lines at Bangkok's Suvarnabhumi Airport went viral in the last week of 2025, prompting concerns about entering Thailand during the year-end peak period.

According to Khaosod English, immigration police said that the photos were likely taken on Dec. 28, 2025, one of the busiest travel days of the year.
Up to 30 flights reportedly landed at the airport at the same time between 1pm and 2pm, which resulted in about 5,700 passengers queueing for immigration.
The airport saw more than 85,000 travelers pass through the entire day, with no fewer than 4,000 commuters per hour, the police said.
However, they reassured travelers that congestion in the queues were less severe than the photos portrayed, owing to the narrow layout of the airport's terminal.
Passengers were also generally able to be processed at immigration within 30 minutes, they added.
According to a spokesperson, immigration authorities operate under a "Sky Plan" during peak seasons like Christmas and New Year.
Officers are deployed at full capacity in this period, while leaves are suspended.
