'Life will never be the same without you': Daughter of late Hong Kong actor Benz Hui posts tribute to her dad
She posted on her father's birthday.
The daughter of the late Hong Kong actor Benz Hui paid tribute to her father in a sweet Instagram post on Nov. 4.
Charmaine Hui posted a photo of herself and her father, sharing that it was her father's birthday.
He would have been 77.
Benz passed away on Oct. 28 at the age of 76.
"These days feel so unreal, may you be free now and go where you need to go with peace of mind," she wrote.
She added that she will treat his absence as if he was away for work.
"Life will never be the same without you, but I'll do my best to be strong because of you. I miss you and love you endlessly."
Charmaine added that her dad's social media platforms will be retained, allowing fans to continue enjoying snippets of his life.
She also expressed her gratitude for the love and support she received from her friends and family.
A veteran
Benz was best known for playing an undercover cop-turned-crime boss, known as Foon Hei Gor, in TVB's "Line Walker" series.
On Oct. 27, numerous celebrities were seen visiting the veteran actor at the hospital, including Chow Yun Fat.
On Oct. 28, Hong Kong actress Luisa Maria Leitāo, a close friend of Benz, shared his passing with the media.
The cause of death was multiple organ failure due to cancer.
Benz was a Singapore permanent resident.
He lived in Yishun and previously shared in an interview that he planned to retire in Singapore.
In a Facebook post, former MP Lee Bee Wah paid tribute to Benz.
"So sad to lose a great guy, I'm very sad," she wrote in Mandarin.
Benz's family shared that all the condolence money collected will be donated to the Children's Cancer Foundation in line with his wishes.
In an obituary issued on Oct. 31, Benz's family described him as a "generous and open-minded man, charitable and benevolent".
The family added: "We hope to transform our grief into compassion, continue [Hui's] benevolent spirit, and ignite new hope for young lives."
On Nov. 1, Benz's longtime friend and fellow Hong Kong actor Stanley Fung also passed away.
He was 81.
Fung had earlier penned a tribute to Hui:
"Dear brother, wait for me over there. I'll follow soon."
