Veteran Hong Kong actor, Benz Hui, has reportedly been hospitalised and is currently in critical condition.

Sources apparently confirmed with Hong Kong media The Standard on Oct. 27 that the 76-year-old celebrity was in a Hong Kong hospital.

Visited by other celebrities

In June 2025, Hui was seen struggling to breathe during a visit to his former home in Guangzhou, sparking concerns about his health.

News of his hospitalisation has drawn family, friends, and colleagues to the hospital in support.

These include Hong Kong actors such as Bosco Wong, Edwin Siu and Priscilla Wong, Emily Kwan, and more.

Several of them refrained from commenting, while Kwan expressed concern and said she needed to visit Hui to understand his condition.

Some showed up in mask to remain inconspicuous.

Affectionately known as "Benz Hung", Hui's career spanned over 50 years, having moved to Hong Kong from Guangzhou in 1958.

He appeared in numerous popular films and television series, such as "Line Walker", "Love Undercover", "The Defected" and more.

A Singapore permanent resident with a S$4 million home in Yishun, Hui previously said he was planning on retiring in Singapore given the country's safety.
