The Housing Development Board (HDB) plans to hold another Sale of Balance Flats (SBF) exercise later in 2025, said Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong.
This comes after HDB launched the largest-ever SBF exercise on Feb. 10 with around 5,500 SBF units.
During his 2025 Budget speech on Feb. 18, PM Wong also announced that the Ministry of National Development (MND) will launch more than 50,000 new flats in a wide range of locations, including Woodlands, Bayshore, and Mount Pleasant.
In addition, HDB will launch around 3,800 Build-To-Order (BTO) flats with a waiting time of less than three years.
This is about 20 per cent of the full year's BTO supply.
"We will continue to increase the supply of such flats in the coming years," said PM Wong.
In January 2025, Minister for National Development Desmond Lee shared that this is an increase from the 2,876 shorter-waiting time flats offered in 2024 and more than the committed annual supply of 2,000 to 3,000 shorter-waiting time flats.
