At around 8am, police officers arrived at Wang's residence in Da'an District, Taipei City, armed with a search and arrest warrant.
Wang was reportedly caught off guard when he opened the door, and the police took the time to explain the situation to him before proceeding with the search, which lasted over an hour.
During the search, the police successfully seized relevant evidence.
Wang allegedly forged medical records to help dodge the draft.
Taiwanese media, ETtoday, reported that Wang's agent was contacted for comment but "quickly hung up the phone" without providing any response.
Past allegations of military evasion
In 2015, Wang was also suspected of using his privilege to avoid military service.
His classmates at Daojiang Management College claimed they never saw him attend classes, leading to speculation that he had enrolled in the college just to delay his military service.
At the time, Wang's agent said, "Studying and military service are necessary processes for every boy's growth. Acting is his favourite job. The company has been helping to coordinate and make everything go smoothly. What's more, he has attended military school before, so there is nothing to avoid."
Wang later addressed the rumours in an interview, saying: "I'm so young, why should I avoid military service? I will go to the army when the time comes."
Currently, the case remains under investigation, with Wang expected to be transferred for further questioning by the New Taipei District Prosecutor's Office.
The specific details of the case will be revealed as the investigation continues.
