2NE1 member Sandara Park reveals she once dated a boy, 14, when she was 19 & lied about her age

Criticism has arisen after a member of K-pop group 2NE1, Sandara Park, shared that she had once dated a 14-year-old boy.

She revealed this story in a YouTube video that was posted on her official YouTube channel but which has been edited.

The video was posted on May 10, 2024.

Why she did it

Park shared in the video that the boy had approached her when she was 19 years old before she made her debut.

The boy asked if she could give him her number. Thinking he was cute, she gave it to him.

However, she found out that he was 14 years old.

In the YouTube video, she shared with fellow member Minzy:

"I was 19, just before my debut. But I lied. It was the only chance I had. I was like "I'm 16!" We went on a few dates We'd play Whac-A-Mole. Play basketball games. Watch movies too."

Original video edited

Criticism began several months after the video was released.

In a comment posted on her YouTube channel on Feb. 11, 2025, it stated the video was re-edited to "avoid potential misunderstandings that may arise due to cultural differences."

The channel also asked that viewers "refrain from spreading unfounded speculations, misinterpretations, or malicious comments about the artist based on the video content."

Critical comments

Strong criticism was left by viewers in the comment section.

One viewer under the YouTube account moonlightbae_ commented:

"Sandara Park outing herself as a creep was not part of my 2025 bingo card what the hell...19 and 114??? oh hell nah."

Another YouTube account by the name Artemis-du5xv commented:

"The fact that she literally admitted to dating a 14 year old and claimed that she was 16 but she was actually 19 and laughing about it is actually INSANE."
