Tired of the heat? We have some good news to share.
Moderate to heavy thundery showers are expected over most parts of Singapore in the afternoon on most days in the second fortnight of February 2025, said Meteorological Service Singapore in a Feb. 17 media advisory.
On a few days, the showers may extend into the evening.
The total rainfall for the second half of the month is forecast to be above average over most parts of the island.
Rest of the month still hot
Despite the abundant rain, the rest of February 2025 is still likely going to be hot.
On most days, the maximum temperatures are likely to range between 33°C and 34°C.
On some rainy days, however, daily lows of around 23°C may be expected.
S'pore 'fair & windy' during 1st half of Feb. 2025
In contrast, Singapore experienced fair and windy conditions on several days in the first fortnight of February 2025.
Over the last two weeks, daily maximum temperatures in the first half of the month ranged between 27.7°C and 34.4°C.
There were six days when the daily maximum temperature reached 34°C or higher.
The highest daily temperature of 34.4°C was recorded at Clementi on Feb. 3 and Jurong on Feb. 14.
Concurrently, thundery showers only fell over parts of Singapore on some afternoons in the first half of the month.
Most parts of the island recorded below average rainfall over the last two weeks, with Kent Ridge registering a rainfall of 69 per cent below average.
