However, the Land Transport Authority (LTA) did not share the exact opening date, adding that more details will be announced when they are finalised, reported CNA.

Together with bus route amendments, the opening of Teck Lee LRT station will enhance the public transport in Punggol, serving students at Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT)'s new Punggol campus, as well as other stakeholders, said LTA.

According to SIT's website, its Punggol campus will be open in phases starting August 2024.

CNA also reported that there were indications that the station would likely open by the end of 2024 to serve the students.

However, the information has since been removed from SIT's website.

In response to CNA's queries, an SIT spokesperson said the sentence was removed because "details have not been finalised".

The spokesperson also shared that students at SIT's Punggol campus will be able to use "both public bus and rail options" when their academic year starts in September 2024.

A 223-room hotel will be built at Punggol Way facing Coney Island at the eastern end of Punggol Digital District.
