If you're fond of the arts, consider heading down to Temenggong Road this April.
The 100-year-old colonial house will be open to the public for a film screening on Apr. 29, 2023.
Admission to the event is free.
Austrian Spring in Temenggong, as the event is called, is curated by Temenggong Artists-In-Residence and the Austrian Embassy in Singapore.
Officially established in 2009, the former aims to support art projects, as well as foster local and foreign art and cultural exchanges.
What to expect
Free film screening
Film enthusiasts will be able to enjoy a free screening of "Double Happiness" by Austrian filmmaker Ella Raidel.
The film explores China's rapid urbanisation through Hallstatt, an Austrian town that has been realised as a Chinese real estate project.
You can watch the trailer here.
A 30-minute Q&A session with visual artist and filmmaker, Ella Raidel and Hyun-Suk Seo, will take place shortly after the screening.
VR presentation
Visitors can also immerse themselves at the colonial house through "The Insensible Cities".
This unique virtual reality (VR) experience explores the ways human senses interact with modernist architectural ideas in different Asian cultures.
