The Jetstar Group, comprising Jetstar Asia and Jetstar Airways, began its first day of operations at Changi Airport’s Terminal 4 (T4) on Mar. 22, according to a statement released by the Changi Airport Group (CAG).

Jetstar Asia's first flight, 3K766 arrived in Singapore at 12:40am from Manila, while flight 3K761 departed for Manila at 6:15am.

Jetstar Airways’ first flight, JQ8 will be departing from T4 for Melbourne at 10:10pm tonight.

Freebies, celebration & promotions

To mark the occasion, passengers who are flying on the 25 Jetstar Group services operating from T4 on Mar. 22 will be presented with tote bags and luggage tags.

There will also be live music, dance performances and photo opportunities near the airline’s check-in row throughout the day.

Jetstar Asia has launched promotional fares from Mar. 22 to Mar. 24, 11:59pm.

One-way fares start from S$69 to destinations including Clark, Denpasar, Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Penang, Phnom Penh and Phuket.

Jetstar passengers flying from now to Apr. 17 are also entitled to exclusive shopping discounts by flashing their Jetstar boarding passes.

Relocated after prior objection

The relocation came after months of preparations by CAG, the Jetstar Group and other airport partners.

Previously, in July 2022, the Jetstar Group voiced their objection to the relocation due to CAG's unilateral decision, but have since confirmed their relocation to the terminal.

According to CAG, two rounds of orientation flights were held on Feb. 22 and Mar. 9 to give Jetstar passengers a preview of travelling through T4.

Jetstar Asia and Jetstar Airways will join 18 other airlines that are currently operating at T4.

Positive reactions

Barathan Pasupathi, Jetstar Asia’s CEO, said the beginning of operations at T4 marked the start of a new chapter for Jetstar.

Noting that the Singapore-based carrier has been at Changi Airport for “nearly 19 years”, he noted that the relocation will enable them to increase their fleet and capacity.

He also thanked the team for their efforts.

Jetstar Airways’ CEO Matt Franzi remarked that the move to T4 reaffirmed the airline’s commitment to Singapore as a destination in demand and a global hub:

“With this terminal move our customers will continue to enjoy direct access to Singapore as well as excellent connectivity between Jetstar and our many airline partners.”

More offerings at T4

T4 resumed operations in September 2022 and has since registered over three million passenger movements, according to the press statement.

Several familiar local brands such as Bengawalan Solo and Heavenly Wang are now fully open at the terminal.

More new brands will be opening in T4 in the coming months.

Passengers who are keen to shop from other terminals can utilise the Changi Shopping Concierge service.
