Taiwanese singer Jimmy Lin, 47, reassures fans & asks for space after major car accident

His first social media update since the accident.

Jimmy Lin, 47, has reassured fans that he is on the road to recovery after his car accident.

The Taiwanese singer/actor was involved in a car accident in Taipei, Taoyuan City on Jul. 22, 2022, Oriental Daily reported.

Lin was driving with his son in his white Tesla car when he crashed into a road divider, causing his car to burst into flames.

Passers-by who witnessed the accident rescued the duo in time before the car caught fire.

While his six-year-old son Jenson was reportedly doing fine, Lin was warded in the ICU for more than a week.

He sustained fractures in his face and shoulders and had to undergo two operations, according to another update by Oriental Daily.

Lin's first post since the accident

On Aug. 22, Lin has taken to social media to address the rumours surrounding his health condition. This is his first post since the accident on July 22.

The 47-year-old expressed his gratitude to those those who have shown their concern, and revealed that he is recuperating at home and will return to work when he is in a better condition.

Besides thanking those who had helped him at the scene, Lin also called for the public to give him and his family some space, and to not believe the rumours online.

Speculations about Lin's injuries have been circulating online, claiming that the singer requires a feeding tube after surgery.

The director of Linkou Chang Gung Memorial Hospital in Taoyuan City has refuted the rumours, stating that Lin did not need a feeding tube and has since gone home to recuperate.

The singer's wife, Kelly Chen, also posted on Instagram, sharing that she has been waiting for the moment where Lin can come home, with their three children by his side.

The 38-year-old expressed gratitude towards the medical team at the hospital for taking care of her husband.

Chen added that Lin will need some time to recuperate before he can be back to his usual self.
