Living together henceforth

On Mar. 8, The actress reposted Koo's Instagram post with a short message of her own on both her Facebook and Instagram pages.

Life is unpredictable, I cherish my present happiness.

Thankful for everything that has helped me make every step to what I have now.

Attached is oppa's Instagram announcement:

"We are married.

Forged an inseparable bond with the person I fell in love with over 20 years ago, we would like to continue this precious romance.

Upon hearing about the news of her divorce, I found that phone number from over 20 years ago and got in touch with her.

Fortunately, that number has not changed, which allowed us to reconnect.

We have lost too much time and can no longer waste it anymore. Hence, I proposed marriage and Barbie has finally accepted it.

We will be living together henceforth.

As I've married later in life, I hope to gain everyone's support and blessings.

Thank you, everyone."

Hsu told Apple Daily that she will not organise a wedding or have more children.

Her family and children were very moved upon hearing that, she added.

The Taiwanese actress said she remarried for one reason — for the both of them to meet as Koo cannot go to Taiwan due to Covid-19 restrictions.

Fell in love 20 years ago

Hsu revealed that she met Koo when she was between the age of 20 and 22.

While their relationship did not last long then, it was a very important romance for her, she maintained.

Both of them cherish their recent reunion and relationship very much, especially so in times of war.

"After we were forced to break up over 20 years ago, he has always been single. When I divorced, he immediately phoned and asked me to marry him. I am very thankful for the courage that we have to pursue happiness."

Hsu's younger sister and fellow entertainer, Dee Hsu, simply said she gives her elder sister her blessings and did not respond to other queries.

Registering the marriage

According to South Korean media, the newlyweds have already completed the marriage registration in South Korea.

It was reported that Koo will be flying to Taiwan soon to meet Hsu and register their marriage there.

In an interview with star1, Koo said he will be flying to Taiwan on Mar. 9.

However, he will need to quarantine for 10 days in a hotel due to the pandemic and will stay in Taiwan for two months.

As this is a reunion after more than 20 years, he feels anxious, he added.

Responding to queries about their break-up, Koo said dating was forbidden to Korean idols back in the day due to the fans' and agency's disapproval.

After deliberating for a long time, he decided to break up with Hsu.

He continued raving about Hsu, claiming he has never met another woman who was better than her.

Koo revealed that as Taiwan does not allow non-relatives of citizens to enter due to the pandemic, he kept asking her to marry him in order for them to meet and she eventually agreed.

In an interview with TV Daily, Koo said they need not waste time dating anymore as they already know each other very well and decided to just get married and have completed the marriage registration.

Koo had disclosed on a South Korea variety television programme that it was love at first sight for them and they learnt each other's languages during the year they were dating and often travelled to each other's countries.

The 55-year-old veteran singer told South Korean media that they will spend their honeymoon in Taiwan before he returns to South Korea.

However, he did not confirm if Hsu will move to South Korea to live with him.
