No appointment will be necessary for Singaporeans, Permanent Residents (PRs) and Long-Term Pass Holders to take the Pfizer-BioNTech/Comirnaty vaccine from Aug. 10, the Ministry of Health (MOH) said in a media release.
According to MOH, good progress has been made in Singapore's national Covid-19 vaccination programme, with 70 per cent of the population having completed their full vaccination regime as of Aug. 8.
79 per cent of the population has received at least one dose of a Covid-19 vaccine under the national vaccination programme.
From Aug. 10, Singaporeans, PRs and Long-Term Pass Holders, aged 12 years old and above, who have yet to come forward for their first dose, will be able to walk in to any of the 26 vaccination centres offering the Pfizer vaccine without a prior appointment.
The list of venues offering the vaccine can be found at this link, categorised by location.
Progressive walk-ins
Previously on May 31, Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong announced that walk-ins were allowed for seniors aged 60 and above, since mid-July, to encourage them to take the Covid-19 vaccine.
From Aug. 2, those eligible could also walk into 11 community centres participating in the vaccination programme, and obtain a Moderna vaccine without a prior appointment.
The ministry urges those who are eligible to be vaccinated to do so and individuals can continue to book appointments at www.vaccine.gov.sg to get vaccinated.
