First, it was SG Chee Cheong Fun, followed by industrial izakaya stall SG Umami.

In June 2021, SG Mao Shan Wang popped into existence after being conceived by Ben Yeo and three of his business partners.

They are Dickson Woo (who has worked with Yeo on the past two concepts), as well as Clarence and Anthony, whom Yeo and Woo got to know while setting up SG Umami.

While it's a permanent venture, the store will only be operating during durian season. For now, it's from June till August 2021.

According to Woo, the four stakeholders have gone on to learn more about durians and how to open them correctly before starting the business.

SG Mao Shan Wang, as its name suggests, sells only mao shan wang, a bittersweet variety popular among Singaporeans.

Each box of 500g (around one-mid-sized durian) goes for S$45, excluding a S$12 delivery fee.

Delivery is free if you buy three boxes or more.
