The Ministry of Defence (Mindef) has suspended the Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) for NSmen until September 30.

In a text sent out to NSmen on Aug. 5, Mindef informed them of the following:

  • IPPT, IPPT Preparatory Training (IPT) and Remedial Training (RT) are temporarily suspended until Sept. 30.
  • NSmen whose IPPT window closure are affected by this will be granted a one-time waiver of their annual IPPT requirement.
  • They will receive a letter in the next three weeks.

NSmen may also refer to the NS Portal for updates. You can see the message below:

In a Facebook post on June 16, Mindef said it would defer non-Ops-essential In-Camp Training and IPPT/IPT/RT, and added:

"We will continue to monitor the COVID-19 situation and review the measures in place to keep servicemen safe."

Previously, Mindef sent out a similar message that stated IPPT/IPT/RT sessions would be suspended until Aug. 31.

Affected NSmen were also granted a one-time waiver.

Mothership has contacted the Ministry of Home Affairs to enquire if they also intend to suspend IPPT/ICT/RT for Home Team NSMen.
