Long queues were spotted on the second day of its reopening (May 7), as more people were free to stock up on essentials on a public holiday, Vesak Day.
According to the Chinese evening newspaper, Shinmin Daily News, about 300 people visited Mustafa Centre this morning.

Precautionary measures put in place
The popular emporium was closed after a Covid-19 cluster was linked to it in April.
Since then, more than 100 cases have been linked to the supermarket.
During the closure, the supermarket also underwent disinfection.

However, only the supermarket and a section selling chocolate were reopened on May 6, after the management received approval from the Ministry of Health.
Other sections, including those that sell apparel and electronic products, remain closed.
The supermarket is not opened 24/7 but only from 9:30am to 11:30pm daily.
Signage have been put up to remind shoppers to wear their masks at all times.

The emporium has also implemented some measures to ensure the safety of shoppers.
This includes limiting the number of people in the supermarket to a maximum of 325 at any time.
Shoppers can only enter via one entrance and have to scan their identity cards for contact tracing purposes as well as have their temperatures checked, just like at other supermarkets.
