7 new Covid-19 clusters, including Northpoint City & Kian Teck Hostel

Most are from migrant workers living in dorms.

The Ministry of Health (MOH) shared more details about the 618 new confirmed cases of Covid-19 on April 25.

Breakdown

Here are the breakdown of the cases.

The majority were Work Permit Holders residing in dormitories, totalling 597.

MOH added that most of these cases were "mild cases", with none in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU).

There were 12 cases of Work Permit Holders residing outside dormitories.

This represents an increase from an average of 21 per day in the week before, to an average of 26 per day in the past week.

There were nine cases in the community, with seven Singaporeans and Permanent Residents, and two people on Work or Long-Term Visit Passes.

MOH said the number of cases in the community, by their definition, has decreased from an average of 31 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 23 per day in the past week.

The number of unlinked cases in the community also decreased from an average of 21 cases per day in the week before, to an average of 15 per day in the past week.

There were also zero imported cases.

46 people were discharged, with 24 remaining in the ICU.

New clusters

Seven new clusters were announced by MOH on Apr. 25:

  • 11 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to a new cluster at ASPRI- Westlite Papan (5 Jalan Papan).
  • One of the newly confirmed cases is linked to 13 previous cases to form a new cluster at Kian Teck Hostel (30 Kian Teck Avenue).
  • 14 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to a new cluster at SCM Tuas Lodge (80 Tuas South Boulevard).
  • Seven of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to a new cluster at Northpoint City (930 Yishun Avenue 2).
  • 32 of the earlier confirmed cases have now been linked to a new cluster at 21 Defu South Street 1.
  • Four of the newly confirmed cases are linked to seven previous cases to form a new cluster at the construction site at 8 Martin Place.
  • 12 of the newly confirmed cases are linked to a new cluster at a construction site at 107 West Coast Vale.
