Following an appeal on Friday, Feb. 14 for blood donors to step forward as the blood bank was running low, many people in Singapore showed up at blood banks over the weekend to replenish the national blood stock.

And this was the scene of large crowds of eligible donors queuing up to donate blood and lend a hand.

There are four locations in Singapore to donate blood:

Bloodbank@HSA

Bloodbank@Dhoby Ghaut

Bloodbank@Woodlands

Bloodbank@Westgate Tower

Donors are urged to reduce their waiting time by booking an appointment.

Each session lasts about 60 minutes.

Eligible donors must be aged between 16 and 60.

The updated Feb. 18 graph showed that there was a surge of AB+ donors:

The blood stock for A+, B+, O+, B- and O- are still low though.

The Singapore Red Cross has said they are taking extra precautionary measures in light of the Covid-19 outbreak.

Beds are disinfected and the frequency of cleaning has been increased given the increase in donors.
