It’s not everyday that people fish a mouldy bag full of "cash" out of the sea.
But that’s exactly what happened at East Coast Park to three men.
What happened
In a video of the incident, which has been circulating on social media, a man in a blue shirt appears to be fishing when he suddenly calls out excitedly, saying he thinks he has caught something.
His friends then rush over to his side, only to discover that a black sling bag has been snagged on the fishing line.
The man who fished out the bag describes it as “heavy”, prompting one of his friends to retrieve a long-handled net to help to haul it out of the water.
The commotion draws a crowd, with at least three other individuals gathering around the group as the bag is lifted out.
The man behind the camera can also be heard urging his friends to open the bag and inspect its contents, though one of them expresses hesitation out of fear he might be bitten.
After some deliberation, they open it and appear visibly stunned by what they find inside.
"It looks like money leh," the man who was filming exclaims.
Once the initial shock subsided, the three men could be heard agreeing to “keep it” for the time being.

So, what exactly was in the bag?
As it turns out, it was not abandoned cash.
