Thai woman, 42, allegedly kills boyfriend, her late husband's friend, with car after attempted break-up

She had allegedly spent more than 1 million baht on him from the life insurance payout following her husband's death.

A 42-year-old woman in Thailand allegedly killed her boyfriend by ramming her car into his motorcycle after he tried to end their relationship.

The incident

The incident took place on Phahonyothin Road in Saraburi province on May 6.

The victim, identified by The Thaiger as 38-year-old Apisit, was riding a motorcycle when the woman, allegedly identified as Aree, allegedly drove into him from behind.

The impact threw him from his motorcycle and into the windscreen of the woman’s car, before he landed on the road.

Rescue workers attempted cardiopulmonary resuscitation, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

He suffered a broken right leg and multiple wounds or abrasions.

She told police that on the day of the incident she had waited outside his accommodation, according to The Bangkok Post.

When the victim saw her and tried to flee on his motorcycle, she then allegedly admitting to chasing him in her car and ramming into him.

Suspect allegedly stepped on victim's face

Police reportedly found the victim’s damaged motorcycle overturned on the road, while the woman’s black sedan was found about 50 metres away with a shattered windscreen and damaged bonnet.

Dashcam and CCTV footage seen by police and Thai media allegedly showed the woman deliberately driving into the victim’s motorcycle.

After the collision, she reportedly got out of her car and repeatedly stepped on the victim’s face.

The woman later surrendered to Mueang Saraburi Police Station.

She allegedly told rescuers at the scene, as cited by The Thaiger:

“Take care of the injured man for me, please. I will turn myself in at Mueang Saraburi Police Station.”

Allegedly spent over 1 million baht on him

During questioning, the woman allegedly told police that the victim was a friend of her late husband, and that the pair had lived together for about eight months after her first husband died.

She said she had received a life insurance payout following her husband’s death, before beginning a relationship with the victim, according to The Bangkok Post.

The woman accused the victim of insulting her and having a violent temper along with being a heavy drinker.

She also allegedly told investigators that she had spent more than 1 million baht, or about S$35,300, supporting him during their relationship.

The woman claimed that when her money ran out, the victim began distancing himself, ignored her calls, and stayed away from home.

Victim had been previously threatened

The victim’s older sister told police that the couple had argued frequently, according to The Thaiger.

She claimed that the victim had wanted to break up with the woman, but the woman refused to accept it.

The sister also alleged that the woman had previously threatened to kill the victim and had once tried to stab him or chase him with a knife.

She believed jealousy and financial disputes were behind the attack.

Police are investigating the case, according to the reports.
