Point-to-point car-sharing service BlueSG has relaunched.

Members of the public in Singapore can use Flexar, another point-to-point car-sharing service, which will begin beta-phase testing from Apr. 15, 2026.

BlueSG previously announced a "relaunch" as Flexar, following a "pause" to its services in August 2025.

It was followed by the retrenchment of some of its employees.

Flexar, which "essentially replaces" BlueSG, will adopt the same point-to-point concept, allowing users to pick up a car from one location and drop it off at another location, The Straits Times reported.

The service will temporarily have pickup and drop-off locations in residential areas in the central, northern, north-eastern and eastern regions of Singapore,

This includes Punggol, Sengkang, Hougang, Tampines, Ang Mo Kio and Toa Payoh, according to ST.

Features

With a focus on testing and refining new features in a live environment, it will includes intelligent fleet and parking optimisation, vehicle access and a user-first platform to support flexible urban mobility, The Business Times reported.

In addition, Flexar, which will offer a fleet comprising both electric and combustion engine cars, does not charge users a membership fee and users do not need to pay a deposit, ST reported.

Instead, users can opt to pay a surcharge, the collision damage waiver, to limit the maximum amount they are liable to pay should a vehicle be damaged during the rental.

Rates

The price will include a fixed platform fee per trip and a tiered per-minute charge, which decreases progressively so longer journeys are charged lower incremental rates, Flexar's spokesperson told ST.

During this phase of the roll-out, the first five minutes of the rental are free.

After that, until the 20th minute, the rental costs 52 cents per minute.

The per-minute rate gets lower as the rental becomes longer, where the rental costs 44 cents per minute after an hour.

These will include the cost of fuel or electricity used, but not toll charges for Electronic Road Pricing or parking, while the rental is still active.

ST reported that users do not need to refuel or charge up the vehicles at the end of their sessions as this will be managed by Flexar.

Its users can pay using credit and debit cards, as well as mobile wallet options, including Google Pay and Apple Pay.

Full launch

As the company scales up the service towards a full launch which will be later in 2026, it will consider expanding beyond the regions currently mentioned, according to ST.

Noting that the Flexar application is available for free download from Apr. 15, ST and BT reported that Singaporeans aged 18 and above with a valid driving licence can sign up for the car-sharing service using Singpass, without deposits or membership fees.
