S’pore influencer Mermaid Girl charged for advertising vapes for sale on Telegram
"If there is high demand, I will set up a Google Form," she wrote in her Telegram Story.
Singaporean influencer Eunice Joy Ng, known online as Mermaid Girl, was charged for allegedly advertising vapes for sale, which is an offence under the Tobacco Act.
According to charge sheets seen by Mothership, Ng allegedly posted a Telegram story sometime in December 2025.
The post stated: “For those who want me to get vape for them, you can send me your preorder list, and I will try to get them. If there is high demand, I will set up a Google Form.”
Ng's Telegram channel is still active and currently has more than 3,000 followers, according to checks by Mothership.
For advertising vapes for sale, she can be fined up to S$10,000, jailed up to six months, or both.
Starting May 1, 2026, vape users are liable for fines of up to S$10,000, while sellers can be handed fines of up to S$200,000 and six years’ jail, under the new Tobacco and Vaporisers Control Act.
Ng’s case is set for a pre-trial conference on Apr. 15.
Previously under fire for allegedly mistreating dog
Ng previously came under fire after she posted a video of a person scolding and hitting a dog on her social media.
Following that, she was also embroiled in allegations that she participated in lewd acts with her dog.
While she has denied all allegations of mistreatment, the National Parks Board (NParks) previously confirmed that it is investigating the mistreatment case.
Mothership understands this includes the sexual abuse allegations.
