Taiwan man who gamed for 4 days & 3 nights straight collapses after ruptured artery
A nurse in Taiwan recently shared about this case via social media.
A Taiwanese man who became addicted to online games during his winter break played for four days and three nights without sleeping, after which he screamed as he got up for a bathroom break and collapsed unconscious.
Sin Chew Daily reported that this case was recently brought to light via social media by a Taiwan intensive care unit (ICU) nurse, Lin Ting.
The ICU nurse shared that after the male college student collapsed, he was rushed to the hospital, China Press reported, adding that he was diagnosed with a ruptured cerebral artery.
He subsequently died after his family decided to remove his life support.
Non-stop gaming, massive bleeding
Before his death, the college student continued gaming despite his mother's attempts to persuade him to stop.
When he got up to use the restroom in the middle of the night, he suddenly screamed and collapsed, ftvnews.com.tw reported.
After being rushed to the hospital, the college student immediately underwent surgery, where it was discovered that a blood vessel in his brain had ruptured and was causing massive bleeding.
However, he was later dependent on life support and required medication to raise his blood pressure, said the nurse.
The family eventually decided to remove their child's life support as they could not bear to let him suffer any longer.
Following this, the hospital invited the college student's relatives and classmates to say goodbye to him, Sin Chew Daily reported, adding that his heartbroken mother desperately called her son's name.
After the medical staff made an exception and gave him a few more minutes, the family then asked for his tubes to be removed.
In light of this incident, the nurse pointed out that overworking, excessive drinking and excessive overworking can all quietly damage cerebral blood vessels.
