S'poreans in Abu Dhabi & Dubai, UAE sent to Oman, will fly back to S'pore on Mar. 7

They were accompanied by officers to Muscat for the first leg of their journey.

Two groups of Singaporeans in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) were escorted to Oman on Mar. 6 as part of Singapore's effort to repatriate affected citizens amid the Middle East situation.

In a Facebook post on Mar. 6, the Singapore Embassy in Abu Dhabi and Consulate-General in Dubai said that officers accompanied the Singaporeans from Abu Dhabi and Dubai by bus to Muscat (the capital of Oman) for the first leg of their journey.

To fly back on chartered flight on Mar. 7

The two groups will be supported by the Singapore Embassy in Muscat and a Crisis Response Team from the Singapore Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) upon their arrival in Oman.

They are expected to board a chartered flight back to Singapore on Mar. 7.

Ambassador Kamal R Vaswani and Consul-General Raziff Aljunied had also spoken briefly to the Singaporeans in Abu Dhabi and Dubai prior to their departure.

The two missions wrote: "Many of them have gone through a challenging week trying to secure a flight home. We are glad that they will now be able to head home and wish them a safe flight and smooth journey ahead."
