Cool weather in S'pore continues on day 2 of CNY, temperature dips to 22.7°C

WhatsappSingapore is set to continue enjoying a cool Chinese New Year, with temperatures dipping to 22.7 °C on Feb. 18.

According to the Meteorological Service Singapore (MSS), at 10 am, Newton recorded a low of 22.7 °C at 3:07am.

Even Pulau Ubin recorded 27.5°C at 9:56am on Feb. 18.

In the afternoon, passing showers are expected across most of Singapore, and temperatures could drop to as low as 23°C.

Day 1 of CNY

Rain and cooler weather marked the start of the Chinese New Year across Singapore.

On Feb. 17 at around 12:11pm, temperatures dropped to 21.8°C in Newton.

At 1:37pm, the highest temperatures recorded were 23.9°C at Semakau Island and 23.7°C at Sembawang.

PUB also issued flash flood warnings for some parts of Katong due to the heavy rain.

The public was advised to avoid Mountbatten Road, which leads to Jln Seaview.

MSS said in a Feb. 16 media advisory that the prevailing northeast monsoon conditions are expected to continue in the second fortnight of February 2026.

Moderate to heavy thundery showers are forecast over most parts of the island in the afternoon and evening during the first few days of the last two weeks of February.
