A woman in Malaysia broke off her engagement in 2025 after discovering that her fiancé was involved in a same-sex relationship.

According to mStar, his acts were revealed after she discovered a same-sex dating app on his phone.

However, the woman ultimately forgave him and decided to protect his reputation by telling her parents that they were "no longer compatible".

Fiancé "changed" after joining cabin crew

The woman reportedly shared online on the social media app, Threads, that her fiancé started to "change" once he started working as cabin crew.

The pair had known each other since their school days.

"After finishing matriculation, he became cabin crew. That is where the story began. I'm not trying to badmouth cabin crew, but this happened after he joined that profession," she claimed.

The woman said that she found out that he had sexual relations with a man after checking his phone and discovering a dating app for gay men.

"My heart was completely shattered," she wrote.

She acknowledged that it was "wrong" of her to "violate" his privacy, and added that she had confronted him immediately.

"I have forgiven him"

The couple later broke off their engagement, with the woman reportedly telling her family that she had "a change of heart" and that they were "no longer compatible".

"I felt I should protect his honour. I also reprimanded him for his actions. Perhaps this was God's test for us," she said.

According to mStar, both of them separated for one year after the breakup but bumped into each other again at a friend's wedding reception in January 2026.

She said that they "managed to have a civil conversation".

"I have already forgiven him. If he reads this Thread, I want to say that the door to repentance is still open. I miss the person you used to be," she said, adding that she is "always praying" for him "as a friend".
