Hollywood actor-director Rob Reiner and his wife Michele Singer Reiner was found dead in their Los Angeles home on Dec. 14 (U.S. time).
Their deaths are being investigated as a homicide case, according to BBC and CNN.
Reiner, 78, is known for directing classic films like "The Princess Bride", "Spinal Tap" and "When Harry Met Sally".
As an actor, he appeared in TV shows like "All In The Family" and movies, including a small part playing Max Belfort, the father of Leonardo Di Caprio's Jordan Belfort in "The Wolf of Wall Street."
Found dead at home
Police said the pair were pronounced dead at the home, and no one has been arrested so far in connection to the case.
“It is with profound sorrow that we announce the tragic passing of Michele and Rob Reiner. We are heartbroken by this sudden loss, and we ask for privacy during this unbelievably difficult time,” a spokesperson for the family said in a statement to the U.S. media.
Son allegedly stabbed them
Multiple media outlets, including People.com, have reported that the couple was killed by their son, Nick Reiner, citing multiple unnamed sources.
However, police has yet to confirm that this is true, though he is said to be in questioning.
The 32-year-old had previously spoke out about his struggles with drug addiction in a 2016 interview.
