Johor declares public holiday on Dec. 15 after football team wins M'sia FA Cup
Today (Dec. 15) has been declared a special public holiday for the state of Johor, according to the Johor government.
The public holiday is in conjunction with the state football team Johor Darul Ta'zim's (JDT) 5-0 win against Sabah Football Club on the night of Dec. 14, according to MalayMail.
This match meant that JDT has won the title of the 2025 Malaysia FA Cup.
This would make it JDT's fourth consecutive time winning the cup.
In a Facebook post by Johor's head of government, Chief Minister Onn Hafiz Ghazi, he confirmed that the public holiday was declared in compliance with the decree of Johor's Crown Prince Tunku Ismail Idris.
Tunku Ismail is also the owner of JDT.He added, however, that the SPM examinations (Malaysia's equivalent of GCE O-Levels) will continue as scheduled.
