The family of a 35-year-old man is appealing for eyewitnesses after an alleged hit-and-run accident in Punggol left him in a coma.

The man, Lee Yong Qiang, was riding his Power-Assisted Bicycle (PAB) at approximately 1am to 2am on Nov. 27, from Marina Country Club to Punggol Field.

He was eventually found severely injured near Block 670 Edgefield Plains.

In a Facebook post on Nov. 27, his brother, Marcus Lee, took to Facebook to plead for witnesses to the accident.

According to the post, Lee had suffered a "very severe head injury" and is "under critical condition".

He is still unconscious.

Marcus stated that his younger brother works as a delivery driver, and also for a cleaning company

Yong Qiang had left Marina Country Club at around 1:20am to 1:30am, and was dressed in a plain light blue shirt and black bermudas.

The older Lee told Mothership that the family is still unsure if he was returning home, or out for a delivery at the time of the accident.

A member of public found Yong Qiang's PAB parked on the roadside without any damage.

In a photo the person provided Marcus, which allegedly showed the aftermath of the accident, a pool of blood can also be seen nearby.

Severe head and brain injury

Responding to Mothership's queries, the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said they received a call for assistance along Edgefield Plains on Nov. 27, 2025 at about 1:55am.

Yong Qiang was conveyed to Sengkang General Hospital.

When admitted, doctors found a "huge blood clot" in his brain, and performed emergency surgery to clear the clot.

Lee is currently on spinal nursing, and is also battling a lung infection and low sodium levels while in a coma, Marcus said.

While he apparently did not sustain any fractures to his body, he requires a ventilator to breathe.

A brain surgeon also informed the family that "his brain might be damaged", Marcus added.

Yong Qiang will undergo a test to see if his brain stem is still functioning. There is a chance he might not regain consciousness.

Family still holding on to his belongings

His brother stated that the family is still holding on his phone and the clothes he wore that fateful night.

Hoping to seek justice, they have informed the police about the incident, and wish to pass these items along to the police to aid in the investigation.

As of publication, Lee is still in critical condition and Dec. 1, marks his fifth day in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Sengkang General Hospital.

Eyewitnesses who may have information on the accident can contact Marcus directly via Facebook.
