A friend of Singaporean Amos Yee is appealing to embassies worldwide to accept Yee as a resident or citizen.

According to Yee's blog, the notice was posted on Nov. 26, 2025.

It said: "Is your country willing to accept Amos as a resident or citizen? Please reply quickly as any delay could risk ICE deporting Amos to another country not of his choosing."

The notice added that the letter is being sent to embassies "all over the world".

Deportation

This comes after Yee, 27, was in U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) custody at the Dodge Detention Facility in Wisconsin, according to the ICE Online Detainee Locator System.

This was after he was released on parole on Nov. 20.

Fled

Prior to this, Yee fled Singapore in 2016 before a scheduled medical ahead of his compulsory national service enlistment.

He later sought and was granted asylum in the U.S.

However, he was sent to jail after being convicted of child pornography and child sex-related grooming charges in December 2021.

He was later released on parole on Oct. 7, 2023, but was detained again in November 2023.

Penalties

Singapore's Ministry of Defence (Mindef) previously said in response to Mothership's queries that Yee will be charged upon his return under the Enlistment Act for failing to report for his pre-enlistment medical screening and for remaining outside the country without a valid exit permit.

Enlistment Act offenders are liable on conviction to a fine of up to S$10,000 and/or imprisonment of up to three years.
