'Heartbroken': Telok Blangah prawn noodle stall burnt down in coffee shop fire, seeks support
Hope they recover.
A prawn noodle shop that was destroyed in the Nov. 29 Telok Blangah coffee shop fire said they are "heartbroken" at the loss.
Porky Prawn Noodle, which has stalls in Sixth Avenue, Silat Avenue, and Telok Blangah, told Mothership that they invested around S$20,000 into the outlet.
But it was completely ruined in the fire.
"This is a significant loss for our team and the entire neighbourhood," the franchise said in a Facebook post.
Nevertheless, the stall thanked the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) for their response.
"Our greatest relief is that no lives were lost...we owe them our deepest gratitude."
Renovations to start soon
A spokesperson from Porky Prawn Noodle said that they will begin renovations next week.
The coffee shop has fire insurance, and they are awaiting advice on whether they will be able to claim for damages.
In the meantime, staff members at the affected stall will either be placed on home leave, or deployed to other outlets.
The stall also requested support from customers and members of the public.
In particular, it asked regulars to support its flagship stall, located at 15 Anamalai Avenue, once it reopens on Dec. 3 after renovations.
"We will navigate the path to recovery with your support," the stall said.
