8 pickleball courts to open at Little India Bus Terminal from early 2026
Parts of the terminal will be retrofitted.
From early 2026, eight new pickleball courts will be available for play at theĀ current Little India Bus Terminal along Racecourse Road.
The terminal, which only operates on Sundays, will be retrofitted with court facilities and be available for booking on Mondays to Saturdays via the MyActiveSG+ app.
The initiative was announced by Member of Parliament for Tanjong Pagar GRC Alvin Tan in a Facebook post on Oct. 24.
Eight new courts
A tender was called by Sport Singapore (SportSG) on Oct. 10 for works to convert sections of the Little India Bus Terminal into pickleball courts.
The tender was published on GeBiz and will close on Oct. 27.
According to Tan, the initiative came about after Moulmein-Caldecott residents requested more pickleball courts to be built in the constituency.
He then asked SportSG and the Land Transport Authority (LTA) if one of the sheltered waiting areas at the bus terminal could be converted into courts.
Once ready in early 2026, the courts will be available for use from Monday to Saturday.
Currently, the Little India Bus Terminal serves as a pick-up and drop-off point for migrant workers commuting to and from their dormitories.
It only operates on Sundays.
"This pickleball facility will complement our new Cambridge sports field (opening early next year) and our upcoming Farrer Park Sports Hub," Tan said.
In 2022, the Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) announced that a 10-hectare site, which is adjacent to Little India Bus Terminal and comprising the former Farrer Park field, tennis centre and swimming complex, will be redeveloped into a housing estate integrated with sports and recreational facilities.
