S'porean man suspected of using S'pore car for illegal cross-border services in M'sia, vehicle impounded in Johor
Another one caught.
A male Singaporean driver using a Singapore-registered car was suspected of providing illegal cross-border transport services at the Malaysia side of the immigration complex at the Causeway.
The vehicle was impounded in Johor, Malaysia on Oct. 23.
The Johor Road Transport Department (JPJ) posted on Facebook on Oct. 24 that its officers stopped the vehicle at Bangunan Sultan Iskandar CIQ Complex.
The JPJ is a transport authority.
The initial checks found that the vehicle did not have the requisite licence to carry out cross-border services as it was not registered as a public service vehicle in Malaysia and did not pay Malaysia road tax.
In the vehicle were three female passengers who are Malaysian citizens.
The driver was issued a notice and the vehicle was seized for investigations.
Photos shared online showed the three passengers also present in the immigration office.
