Two Malaysians were arrested on Sep. 25 after Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) officers discovered e-vaporisers hidden in a car at Woodlands Checkpoint bound for Singapore.

In a Facebook post on Sep. 30, ICA said the 398 vapes were found in a Malaysia-registered vehicle driven by a 41-year-old female Malaysian driver.

Officers directed the car for enhanced checks before discovering the e-vaporisers hidden in the vehicle's modified dashboard.

ICA said a 43-year-old Malaysian male passenger was also arrested.

The case was referred to the Health Sciences Authority (HSA) for further investigation.

"Border security is a crucial aspect of the enforcement strategy against e-vaporisers. As guardians of the nation's borders, ICA remains committed to safeguarding Singapore by ensuring our borders remain safe and secure," ICA added.
