LTA to introduce 6 new bus services in towns like Punggol & Tengah by Nov. 17, 2025
The improvements were made following reviews, LTA added.
The Land Transport Authority (LTA) will introduce six new bus services by the end of 2025, it announced in a press release.
The six new bus services are:
- 104: to be introduced on Oct. 26, between Punggol Coast and Woodleigh, connecting Sengkang, Buangkok and Serangoon enroute.
- 984: to be introduced on Oct. 26, between Bukit Panjang and Jurong East, connecting Teck Whye and Brickland,
- 44: to be introduced on Nov. 10, between Punggol Coast and Changi Airport, and
- 451, 452 and 453: to be introduced on Nov. 17, providing residents from Brickland and Tengah with a faster connection to MRT stations
- 451: Brickland – Bukit Gombak
- 452: Tengah – Beauty World
- 453: Tengah – Bukit Batok
In addition, LTA will also introduce five more City Direct services for the North East region and implement two route extensions.
These extensions are:
- Extension of service 114 from Buangkok to Yio Chu Kang Bus Interchange/MRT Station, and
- Extension of service 146 from Bartley to Kovan MRT Station.
LTA said that these improvements were made following its reviews of the bus network, ridership patterns and areas of growing demand, as well as feedback from community leaders and public transport operators.
14 new bus services have been introduced under the BCEP
LTA also highlighted that thus far, it has introduced 14 bus services as part of the Bus Connectivity Enhancement Programme (BCEP) in estates across the island to provide residents with easier access to the rail network and key amenities.
This includes peak-hour express bus services as an alternative option for residents to travel to and from the city, as well as peak-hour limited-stop bus services that take a more direct route to MRT stations with fewer intermediate stops.

52 existing bus services enhanced
Under the BCEP, 52 existing bus services have also been enhanced with either additional capacity or expanded coverage.
As examples of these enhancements, LTA said since Jul. 28, 2025, additional trips were added for bus service 861, which connects residents in Yishun, Sembawang and Canberra, during the morning and evening peak periods to cater to higher passenger demand.
Another bus service, 140, was amended from Sep. 7, 2025, to serve new BTO flats along Towner Road, providing residents with easier access to key amenities such as Boon Keng MRT Station and Kallang Polyclinic.

According to LTA, since its launch in July 2024, the BCEP has benefitted nearly 200,000 commuters daily with more travel options and shorter journeys.
Speaking to media during his visit to Choa Chu Kang Bus Interchange, Acting Minister for Transport Jeffrey Siow said that good progress has been made in improving Singapore's bus network.

Improving bus journey times is key to improving public transport journey times – a priority of his since he became the transport minister in May.
The BCEP is an eight-year programme and the new bus services and enhancements shared today are examples of what the government is doing to improve public transport network, Siow said.
"...to give more options to commuters, to broaden the bus network, to bring them to the MRT stations more quickly, particularly for HDB residents who live further away from the city. And we will do more over the years," Siow added.
