Another twist: Astronomer HR chief's husband reportedly also at same Coldplay concert with his own date
The ex-couple had reportedly split weeks before the concert.
Two months after Astronomer CEO Andy Byron and his human resource chief Kristin Cabot were caught on camera in a close embrace at a Coldplay concert, another twist has emerged.
Kristin's ex-husband Andrew Cabot was actually also at the exact same concert with another woman.
This is according to a source who revealed this information to The Times.
U.S. magazine People also reported the same and cited a source close to the woman that Andrew was on a date with.
Separated weeks earlier
As per The Times, Kristin had separated from her husband just weeks before the concert, where she was caught on the roving cam ducking down and pulling away.
Previous reports indicated that Andrew was in Japan at the time, but he was, in fact, at the same concert with a woman who has now been revealed to be his current girlfriend.
"They had been separated and living apart for several weeks," the source explained to The Times, who shed light on Kristin and Andrew's marital status.
The source added, "It was amicable. Kristin was in the box with people from work, though it wasn't a company box, and Andrew was actually there too with a date, with a woman who is now his girlfriend."
Unsure why she reacted that way
The source added that Kristin was not “hiding” and that she did not know why she had ducked out and reacted that way.
“She knew it was inappropriate to behave that way with her boss as the head of HR,” the source also told The Times.
“It was not that she was caught cheating, it was not some affair. She fully acknowledges [the situation] was inappropriate, but that was the only inappropriate thing she did,” the source added.
People's source also insisted that Kristin and Byron had an "excellent working relationship, a great friendship. There was no affair".
Those involved lost jobs
Following the incident, Byron resigned as head of Astronomer.
Kristin also resigned from the company.
The company responded by hiring Coldplay frontman Chris Martin’s ex-wife, Gwyneth Paltrow, to front a satirical advertisement posted to its Instagram account.
Has not left the house
The Times added that Kristin had barely left her home in New Hampshire following the intense scrutiny in an effort to save her children from the public attention.
She has reportedly received hundreds of death threats after the incident.
“The thing is, something like this could happen to anyone, she was just very very unlucky,” the source said.
“She could not believe that this could be such a global story… The level of cruelty and vitriol lobbied at her was unfathomable.”
