Astronomer CEO resigns after Coldplay concert scandal

Astronomer's Chief Executive Officer Andy Byron has resigned.

He was recently spotted in a close embrace with his human resource chief Kristin Cabot on a kiss-cam at a Coldplay concert.

His resignation was announced by the tech company on X at 2:38am, Jul. 20 (Singapore time).

"Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met," the statement wrote.

According to Astronomer, its Board of Directors has accepted Byron's resignation and will begin the search for their next CEO while co-founder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues as interim CEO.

Cabot is currently placed on leave. The latest statement did not provide further update about her future with the company.

Astronomer previously also clarified in a statement on Jul. 19 that no other employees were in the video to debunk speculations of another HR employee being present at the concert.

Astronomer also said that Byron has not put out any statement on this scandal.
